Global policy mobilities in federal education systems

As an introduction to this special issue, paper presents a discussion of different theoretical and methodological challenges in analyzing the ways which global policy flows are shaping education policies practices within across federal systems. We argue that dynamics between systems complex, non-linear, multi-directional ever changing. start by discussing notion mobilities kinds approaches we suggest can be productive understanding power spaces. then move on conceptualize “the federal” education. While do not lead toward universal results or linear convergence nations, also stress necessity think about federalism as singular but plural, federalisms, given configurations historical developments To conclude, highlight four analytic tensions new directions for future research
